Doctor
Emmanuel Halimi

Ophthalmic surgeon — Rueil-Malmaison

I trained in ophthalmology at Lille University Hospital (CHRU) and the Rothschild Foundation, then spent three years as a specialist registrar at Foch Hospital, where I went on to practise neuro-ophthalmology until 2024. I founded the Rueil Ma Vision practice in 2016.

My surgical practice grew around two areas: cataract surgery and refractive surgery, in the wake of a university diploma (DIU) in refractive surgery and phacoemulsification. Alongside my surgical work, I look after the diagnosis and treatment of the full range of ophthalmic conditions.

Surgical experience

Since when, and on which platforms.

Two distinct surgical activities, begun three years apart, each on its own technical platform.

Since 2013

Cataract surgery

Removal of the lens by phacoemulsification and insertion of an intraocular implant. Also: phakic ICL implants, PreLex, add-on implants and YAG laser capsulotomy.

Operating theatre
Clinique Les Martinets, Rueil-Malmaison
Phaco system
Centurion, Alcon

Since 2016

Refractive surgery

Correction of myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia by corneal laser: LASIK, SMILE, trans-PKR and PresbyLASIK.

Laser platform
Institut Laser Ophtalmologique Voltaire, 11th arrondissement of Paris, where I operate
Femtosecond laser
VisuMax 800, Zeiss — SMILE hyperopia module
Excimer laser
Amaris 750S, Schwind

The choice of platform is not incidental: the SMILE module for hyperopia, CE-marked since 2024, exists only on the VisuMax 800. The consultation, the pre-operative assessment and all follow-up take place at the Rueil-Malmaison practice, wherever the procedure is carried out.

Commitments

Beyond the practice.

In much of the world, avoidable blindness is still, in large part, a matter of cataracts left unoperated. It is surgery I carry out every Tuesday in Rueil-Malmaison: it felt hard not to put it to use elsewhere too, for those who have no access to it.
