Privacy policy
Processing of personal data within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, known as the GDPR, and of French Act no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 as amended, known as the “Informatique et Libertés” Act (the French Data Protection Act).
The principle: this site stores nothing
This is an information website, with no patient area and no built-in appointment booking. It relies on no database. Nothing you enter is stored on a server. Only audience measurement sets cookies, and only if you accept it. Two features ask you to enter information: the contact form and the eligibility questionnaire. Neither of them sends your information to this site. The details are given below.
The refractive surgery eligibility questionnaire calls for particular care: its questions concern health data, but the result is calculated entirely in your browser. Your answers never leave your device, are not stored and disappear as soon as you close the page. The surgeon has no access to them.

Cookies and audience measurement
To find out how many people visit the site and which pages they find useful, this site uses Google Analytics, a service of Google Ireland Limited, set up through Google Tag Manager. These tools are loaded only if you click “Accept” in the banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, or do not answer, no connection is made to Google and no measurement cookie is set. The whole site remains available either way.
With your consent, Google Analytics sets the _ga and _ga_… cookies, valid for 13 months at most. They count visits and page views, reading time, device type, approximate region, and clicks on the phone number, email or appointment booking links. The statistics are kept for 14 months, then deleted. They are never used for advertising.
No health data is sent: answers to the eligibility questionnaire and the content of the contact form never go to Google. Google may process measurement data in the United States; this transfer is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, to which Google is certified.
Your choice is stored in your browser for 6 months, after which you are asked again. You can change it at any time with the “Cookies” link at the bottom of every page, or with the button below. Withdrawing your consent deletes the measurement cookies.
The fonts are hosted on the site's own server. Displaying them opens no connection to any third-party service.
Contact form
The contact page offers a form for writing to the practice. It relies on no server: when you submit it, the name, email address and message you have entered are copied into a draft opened by your own email software. You decide whether to send it, and the email then goes to contact@rueilmavision.fr. This site does not receive or store this information, nor pass it on to any third party.
A tick box records your consent before this draft is opened. The form asks you not to include any medical information: an ordinary email is not a secure channel for health data. Messages received at the practice are used only to answer your request, are kept no longer than necessary and are not used for any commercial purpose.
Booking an appointment
Appointments are booked through a link to the Doctolib platform, operated by Doctolib SAS. When you click this link, you leave this site: the data you then provide is processed by Doctolib, acting as the surgeon's data processor, and stored by a hosting provider certified for health data. Doctolib's privacy policy applies.
Your patient data, outside this site
The data collected during a consultation makes up your medical record. It is processed for your medical care, on the legal basis of Article 9(2)(h) of the GDPR, and is covered by medical confidentiality.
It is kept in accordance with the recommendations that apply to medical records, is accessible only to the surgeon and to authorised persons, and is neither transferred to anyone nor used for any commercial purpose.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability, which you can exercise with the data controller at the address given above. Access to your medical record is governed by the conditions set out in Article L.1111-7 of the French Public Health Code (code de la santé publique).
If you encounter any difficulty, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés, the French data protection authority), 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, cnil.fr.
Security and future changes
The site is served over HTTPS. Any change that would lead to collecting health data (a medical contact form, transmission of questionnaire results, a patient area) would require HDS-certified hosting (the French certification for health data hosting) within the meaning of Article L.1111-8 of the French Public Health Code, an update of the record of processing activities and, where applicable, a data protection impact assessment.
